When we live in alignment with who we are, we are at home within ourselves.
When we live in alignment with who we are in our deepest nature, we are at home within our family, our work life, our community, and ourselves. The world in which we live is filled with many demands on our time, energy and finances. Clients often tell me they feel lost, totally torn by stress, or not at home in their lives.
It is not unusual to be stalled or stuck at a major threshold in life, as with a young person, who is anxious about establishing her or his claim on the world, or an individual who finds retirement a huge and fearful challenge. We may suffer from inner pressures, such as depression, anxiety, and self-doubt. Sometimes conflicts arise with partners, children, or parents. Sometimes there are problems at work, or with finances. Sometimes hurts arise from current wounds and traumas, or linger from childhood and demand attention.
We heal best when we have professional psychotherapy care and support. During my thirty plus years of practice as a psychotherapist, I have accompanied many people along the pathway to their own coming home to themselves.
